Olive Trees

-   ABOUT OLLIEDEAN  -

From the beginning, we decided that we wanted to produce an olive oil that was not only exceptional in taste, but also one that was free from pesticides, herbicides and chemicals. We have adopted sustainable farming practices. Mulch is produced from organic grasses grown on site and used around the trees. This not only conserves water but also improves the fertility of the soil.

Olliedean was established in 2008 as a small boutique olive grove. The farm house was lovingly restored and we initially started the grove by hand planting 900 trees. The majority of our trees are of Italian and Spanish heritage and are home grown in the rich fertile soils of the Erudgere valley, just 8 km out of Mudgee.

Our olives are hand-picked when ripe and immediately cold pressed to maximise health benefits and taste. All pressing is done on site to ensure no delay and to guarantee freshness.

Organially Grown Produce

Olive oil is one of the oldest superfoods. A staple of the Mediterranean diet, extra virgin olive oil (EVOO) is oil produced from the first press of the olives. It not only has the best flavour but also has the most health benefits. EVOO is loaded with antioxidants as well as Vitamins E and K. Olive oil contains healthy monounsaturated fats which are good in lowering blood pressure and preventing cardiovascular disease. Olliedean extra virgin olive oil has the added benefit of being free from chemicals and being non-genetically modified.
